DECROCE - RIBLE CITIZENS BAND RADIO BILL UNAMIMOUSLY PASSES COMMITTEE |
A bill sponsored by Assembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce, R–Morris and Passaic, and David Rible, R–Monmouth, that exempts the operators of commercial vehicles from using citizens band radios from the list of prohibited devices was passed without dissent today by the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee. The proposed legislation now moves to the full Assembly for a vote.
“Citizens band radios are an invaluable use to those who operate commercial vehicles,” stated Rible. “Today’s committee vote recognizes their importance as a communications device that aids those who transport goods or provide services. The use of citizens band radios is also just as safe as a hands-free phone. I look forward to swift passage by my colleagues in the General Assembly.”
“This is practical legislation designed to keep a critical medium open to those who rely on its use for transmitting and receiving information,” commented DeCroce. “The continued use of ‘cb’s can assist in keeping transportation routes flowing smoothly, and they provide an alternate form of communication to ensure that commerce is conducted efficiently.”
