ADDIEGO AND RUDDER STATEMENT |
Assembly Republican members Dawn Marie Addiego and Scott Rudder, both R-Burlington, issued the following statement after the General Assembly approved Governor Christie’s 2.0 hard cap on property taxes:
Addiego:
“Trenton’s status quo and special interests were dealt a severe blow today with Assembly approval of this hard property tax cap Governor Christie and Republicans so diligently fought for. No doubt this is a major victory for New Jersey taxpayers who have suffered under a decade of unrelenting property tax and government spending increases. This cap rightfully gives the people, not Trenton bureaucrats, the ultimate say as to whether or not to override the cap.”
Rudder:
“We have taken a significant step forward in solving the biggest problem facing our homeowners and business community. Finally, we have real property tax reform that will make living in New Jersey affordable for everyone again. This hard cap, however, will not work without the governor’s toolkit. Therefore, we must complete the task by pressing ahead with Governor Christie’s reform agenda so that local officials have the tools to live within the cap.”
