Jay Webber was elected to his first term in the Legislature in November 2007.

The Assemblyman was born in Teaneck and grew up in Clifton. A graduate of the Johns Hopkins University where he received his B.A. in International Studies, Webber served Congressman William J. Martini, and later graduated from Harvard Law School in 2000. He clerked with New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Peter G. Verniero. While attending Johns Hopkins, he was a Second Team Academic All-American in his senior season and baseball team captain.

He and his wife Johanna have six children and live in Morris Plains.
